David Johnson
Executive Director
David Johnson was born in 1956 in Mobile Alabama. He grew up in Mobile involved in sports and community activities. He accepted Christ in January of 1966 and was baptized in Spring Hill Baptist Church. He met Susan Williams in 1972 and they married in October of 1975. They have two children, Brian and his wife Christy live in Mobile, Alabama and Bethany and her husband Brad and their daughter Jocelyn live in Birmingham, Alabama.
For fourteen and a half years David worked in corporate America. He was with Will-Shire Oral Arts for twelve and a half years and then with Hill & Brooks Coffee Company for two years. While in Savannah Georgia in 1988 he surrendered to full time Christian ministry. He has served on six church staffs, the last two being as Executive Pastor at Hunter Street Baptist Church in Birmingham Alabama, and Senior Pastor at Dayspring Baptist Church in Mobile Alabama.
In October of 2007 the Lord gave him four words, GIVE and GO, ASK and EXPECT. In that moment and through those words God closed the door in David’s life as a local Pastor and opened the door which has led him to do church planting around the world. A series of events led him to three men in Birmingham, John Wright, Wayne Myrick, and Scott Gurosky and Doulos Partners was born.
When asked how God has placed him in this time and place in history he responded by saying, “God has been preparing me for just such a time as this for the last 35 years. It is amazing how my experiences in business and ministry are absolutely perfect to lead a ministry like Doulos. Is that not just like God?”
David and Susan will reside in Birmingham Alabama where the home office of Doulos Partners is located. Please be praying for David, the Board of Directors, and the partners of Doulos as they seek the Lord and “go and make disciples.”
Nick Nickoli
Director of Development and Operations
Nick Nickoli is a Retired U. S. Army Lieutenant Colonel with 23 years active duty service. He brings a tremendous amount of experience in personnel management and administration with a Masters Degree in Public Administration. His military assignments included duties at NATO Headquarters in Belgium, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. and numerous other positions in Europe over eleven years. He has been a Commander of troops twice and has managed over a thousand personnel in a private company in Alabama. His expertise is in operations and personnel management. He comes to Doulos Partners from a business consulting background. Nick accepted Jesus as his Savior and Lord in 1975 and has served as a deacon in 5 different churches. He has been a teacher of the Word for over 33 years. His joy continues to be his wife Pam of 40 years and his two sons, both married and both having served on the mission field. He is the proud grandfather of two children and counting.
“My life’s verse is taken from Philippians 3:12 ‘I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.’ I believe all that GOD has invested in me during my pilgrimage as a believer will have an opportunity to be manifested to His Glory by working shoulder to shoulder with His fellow servants in Doulos Partners as we carry out the Great Commission”
Jerry Brittendall
Jerry Brittendall served his country in the U.S. Air Force for four years after graduating from High School. He is a Southeast Asia War Veteran. He received his Bachelor Degree in Business from Northern Illinois University in 1976. He also attended Georgia Tech University for postgraduate studies in Environmental Engineering.
He has been a business owner for most of his professional life and comes to Doulos Partners from a senior executive role. He received the Lord Jesus Christ in February 1964 and was baptized at Memorial Christian Church in Rock Island, IL. He led a team that counseled terminally ill patients and their families while at Willowcreek Community Church.
His walk with Christ led him then to Atlanta, Georgia in 1992, where he was an active member in Mount Paran Church of God and then moved to Northstar Church in Kennesaw, Georgia. He continues serving in the Hospitality and Community Service ministry. Jerry is committed to leading a “Dad’s Ministry” there as well.
Jerry loves being the father of his nine-year-old daughter, Kaitlyn Elizabeth, and is an avid golfer.
He is honored to join the Doulos team as an Area Director in the Atlanta region while coupling his life’s mission to share the good news and let the world know that “All things are possible through the Lord Jesus Christ”.
Brian Johnson
Marketing and Media
Brian Johnson is from Mobile, Alabama. He was born there on August 21st, 1979. After high school, Brian sought out a career in the Fire Department. He graduated from the Alabama Fire College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Brian was assigned to several different engine companies in Tuscaloosa after graduating but eventually transferred to the Fire Department in his hometown of Mobile, Alabama. He was assigned to Engine Company 8 and transferred later to Truck 17. He was also a member of the Urban Search And Rescue FEMA team in Mobile.
Brian and his wife Christy made the decision to leave the department and go to work for a youth organization that does outreach for teenagers called Young Life. They moved to upstate Michigan to work at an adventure outdoor camp called Timber Wolf Lake the organization owned. Brian and Christy spent 3 long winters up north before moving back home to work for Doulos. Now, Brian and Christy live in Brevard, NC.
