From our ministry partners at E3 Partners comes a story that shows just how far a single moment of obedience can travel. An act of faith in Princeton, Texas rippled outward through three generations of disciples, crossing backgrounds, distances, and belief systems along the way.
A living picture of what Gospel multiplication looks like when ordinary people say yes.
Hector’s testimony is a powerful example of a “chain reaction” of redemption that began with a single, providential knock on a door.
While Jessica, a U.S. e3 Strategy Coordinator, and her team were prayer walking through a neighborhood in Princeton, Texas, they knocked on doors and looked for opportunities to share the Gospel. Just minutes earlier, Hector had been watching a TikTok video about Revelation 3:20, reflecting on the image of Jesus standing at the door and knocking. Then came a literal knock at his own door.
When Jessica and her team shared the Gospel with Hector, he responded to the message and gave his life to Christ. Almost immediately, Hector began sharing his new faith within his own sphere of influence. He started a gathering at his workplace and began sharing the Gospel with his girlfriend, Nutely, who came from a Buddhist background.
Through Hector’s consistent witness, Nutely repented and believed in Jesus. As Hector continued growing as a disciple himself, he also took an active role in Nutely’s spiritual growth and had the opportunity to baptize her.
Multiplication continued as Nutely began sharing the Gospel with a friend who lived a significant distance away in Rowlett, Texas. Because of the distance, Nutely encouraged her friend to connect with a local church where she could be established and continue growing in her faith.
Today, her friend is attending a local church and preparing for baptism. From that single knock on Hector’s door, the Gospel has now multiplied through three generations of disciples – from Hector to Nutely and from Nutely to her friend – each passing on the hope they received to someone else.
Intentional discipleship is helping ensure this Gospel multiplication continues. Hector and Nutely are being discipled each Wednesday night through a study of the “Commands of Christ,” helping establish them in their faith and equip them to continue making disciples of others.
